Children who are charged as a juvenile can still face lengthy prison terms. The biggest difference is that at the age of 21 the juvenile's case is reviewed to see if it is appropriate to release them at that age, or whether they should be held in an adult facility for the remainder of their sentence.

Being tried as an adult will guarantee Nathan Anderson will serve his full sentence if convicted.
